Like every XJ it starts with lightness on its side, then adds the effortless power of Jaguar’s 400bhp 4.2 litre supercharged V8, which has the ability to take the XJR from 0-60mph in just 5.0 seconds. But it’s the controlled suppleness of the XJR’s sports suspension and powerful reassurance of its high performance R braking system that make that performance even more satisfying. Inside, there are contoured, power heated and cooled front seats and a choice of aluminium or burr walnut veneers. The distinctive R gearshift logo crowns the responsive ZF six speed transmission with its optional sports settings. Jaguar’s touch screen navigation system and Jaguar premium sound system are fitted as standard.
